A button
Under As, choose A button on the step in hand on the Run tab, or A button on the step on the Step tab. Pressing it lists what the button can do with what you shared:
- A search link: Search the web (or YouTube, Maps and the rest), for the words you searched. The words are kept as the value query. The next run can say other words and the same button searches for them.
- Any other link with a query in it: Opens it with a part each run says. Switch on the parts that change from run to run. Each one becomes a value.
- A link with nothing to vary: Opens this page.
- A phone number, even inside a sentence: Calls it, Messages it, FaceTimes it or Copies it. The number is kept as the value phone, so each run can call somebody else.
- A contact from Contacts: Call, Message and FaceTime for their first number, a Call for each other number, and Emails it. The button says the name: Call Anna.
- An email address: Emails it.
- Words: Copies it or Says it out loud.
Not what you need? Press Describe it… at the end of the list and say what the button should do, like "search Amazon for it" or "open the ticket in acme.atlassian.net". The model on your phone makes the button, and it joins the list, already chosen. Check the line under it: it says what the button will search for or open. This needs Apple Intelligence, and nothing leaves your phone.
On the card shows the button as it will look. Nothing happens when you press Add. The button waits on the card until you press it.
A button shared into a run belongs to that run, like any other change. It shows in orange and counts on the band until you choose Keep or Only here.
A value
Choose A value of the run, of the step or of the routine. A date or a number on its own is kept as a date or a number. You can change what the value is called under Called. A step's name, a link or a message that says {param: and the name } reads it. Values in a step's name explains how.
A new step
When you add a link as a step, the step opens it, as it always has. Under Pressing it you can choose the search instead, or Nothing to press.
