Describe… is one page for everything you ask a model to do: write a routine, change one, change a step, write its triggers. Choose who writes it in Settings.
The Routine Run Ask shortcut asks the model you chose and brings the answer back by itself. Get it installs it in one tap.
A routine that has to be done by a time gives every step its own deadline, and the run's page says how you stand when it matters.
Do it now on a step further down takes that step in hand without walking past the ones in between. A run's steps reorder in Select.
Going again answers a run's check-in, and an answered check-in leaves the run's page.
A routine an assistant wrote for something that happens once is archived when its run is done.

A step can be done by a time, or begun by one, and its deadline can go into your calendar or Reminders. A tick in Reminders moves the run on.
A list can stay open: Inbox, To read and To watch wait for more instead of finishing, and the share sheet offers them first.
Write a routine on the phone from one sentence, on iPhones with Apple Intelligence.
Siri can change a routine: rename it, add, change, move or remove a step. The earlier version is kept, and one Undo puts it back.
Steps from another routine… copies steps from any of your routines or any starter.

A routine an assistant wrote can be started once without keeping it, and a starter can be changed before you add it.
The plus in the middle of the tab bar is the one place for anything new.
Two triggers that start the same routine at the same minute start it once.
An assistant can suggest the tags for a routine it writes.
A long press on a note offers what its swipes do.

When something pages you, the on-call routine starts at any hour, and a second page starts a second run.
A routine can say whether an event from another app asks you first.
Choosing a routine from a long library opens a page with a search and the ones you used lately.
A button marked Worth thinking about first is red on the Lock Screen card and on the step's card.
Long press a description, a note or a value to copy or share it. Decide later can be undone.
Fields no longer lose words or jump while you type.

How did it go: put a feeling on any step of a run. It shows on the Lock Screen card and in the Dynamic Island.
A step can have a colour of its own, chosen with its mark.
An assistant can change a routine, not only write one, and what it would change is shown to you before anything is written.
“When I get home, but only on weekdays” can be said as one trigger.
Routines can be grouped by tag, and Start is on a routine's swipe.
Waiting on you: tick what to keep, and Done settles the rest.

Pause holds the step's timer too, and has a button of its own.
A run or a step can wait for something that happens elsewhere: an event from another app, a place, or another run.
Not now on the Lock Screen card sends the step to the end and leaves a quiet question about it in In hand.
Don't start until: a routine can wait for a date without being turned off.
The run's page is a track of its steps. Press any stop to see that step's card.
A button on a step can wear a mark you choose, and Back is gone from the Lock Screen card.

Beta

iCloud sync between your own devices, through your private iCloud. It is off until you turn it on in Settings.
Delete keeps things 30 days in Recently Deleted, and the bar at the foot of the screen takes it back.
A routine keeps its earlier versions, and any of them can be put back.
Runs on iPhone with iOS 26.1 and Apple Watch with watchOS 26, not only 27.
A copy of everything is kept on the phone once a day.

Check-ins: a question on a run or a step that asks every so many minutes, hours or days until you answer. A run pauses while its check-in asks.
A trigger can sit on a step, so a moment can move the run to that step.
The pages for a routine, a step, a run and a run's step are built the same way, and Arrange sections… hides what you do not use.
Move or delete an event the app wrote into your calendar, and it asks what you meant. It never undoes what you did.
Your assistant can write a routine: send it the request, paste its answer back, and look it over before anything is added.
A finished run keeps the routine it followed, so it still reads right after the routine changes or is deleted, and can bring it back.

Beta

A step can ask for a few words, and you type them into its notification.
What you copied can go into a run as a value, and a step's words can include what is on the clipboard.
A step can ring an alarm the moment it is reached, not only when its time runs out.
Tapping a notification opens the run it is about.
A paused run no longer puts its Lock Screen card back after you swipe it away, and the watch no longer says Running for runs that are not.
