In the next beta buildLarger Text, Reduce Motion and Assistive Access as described here arrive with the next TestFlight build. Everything else on this page is true of the app today.
What works
- Colour never carries the meaning alone. Every status shows a symbol and a word as well as its colour.
- Larger Text. Text follows the size you set on your iPhone, up to the largest accessibility sizes. The bar for the run in progress, above the tabs, stops growing where the tab bar does; the run's own page shows everything at your size.
- Reduce Motion. Bars fade in instead of sliding, marks do not bounce, and lists do not scroll themselves.
- Dark Mode. Every screen follows the system appearance.
- Voice and the wrist. Siri and Shortcuts can start a routine and move to the next step. On the watch, Double Tap presses Next. A step can read itself aloud.
Assistive Access
Inside Assistive Access the app is a smaller app: your routines, then one large step with two buttons, Next and Not now. There is no Stop, no editing and no settings, and a timer is shown but never moves on by itself. Routines are set up in the full app by whoever arranged the phone.
Still being checked
- VoiceOver. Controls are labelled, but nobody has yet done every common task with VoiceOver from start to finish. Until that is done we do not say it fully works.
- Voice Control. Follows from the same check.
- Contrast. The grey secondary text has not been measured yet.
Tell us
If something cannot be read, reached or pressed with the settings you use, write to support@routinerun.com and say which setting and which screen. Those reports are fixed before anything else.
