The button, one press at a time
For an iPhone with an Action button. Put the control on it first: Settings › Action Button › Controls, then In hand under Routine Run. Starting this puts a card on your Lock Screen, which is what the button acts on — then put the phone down and press the side button. Each step marks something different, and most of them also move you on.
- 1Press the side button
Do not unlock anything. A press acts on the step in hand of the run you have pinned, and says so out loud — then moves you to the next step. That is the whole idea: the phone stays where it is.
Does this itself - 2It can write things down
This press files a note on the run. Look for it afterwards on the run's page — it is under Notes, and the band at the top counts it as this run's until you say what becomes of it.
Does this itself - 3It can count
This one does not move you on. Press it four or five times and each press adds one to a value called presses — that is the set, the lap, the glass of water, counted without looking. When you have had enough, press Next here on the screen.
Does this itself - 4Two things, one press
This step marks two. Marking two says both may happen with nobody looking, so one press copies a line to your clipboard and moves you on. Paste it anywhere to see that it really ran.
Does this itself - 5And a step can mark nothing
This one marks nothing at all, which is what almost every step you write will do. Press the button now and it opens In hand instead — the screen you are reading this from — because there was nothing to do without looking. Press Next to finish.
